TopFreedom is a social movement which main objective is to give the women the right to go topless in public when they want, where men have the equivalent right. Examples of public places which might be covered include beaches, swimming pools and parks. The reasons cited include keeping nursing mothers from having to find a hidden place for breastfeeding, allowing women to sun tan, comfort in places such as pools and beaches, and sex equality issues.
The term “topfree” is used as an alternative to “topless”, which may carry negative connotations. Some women prefer the term “shirtfree rights”.
When I arrived home after a 2 day visit to my grandparents in Portugal, I checked my email and saw a message from a good portuguese friend called Igor.
The mail was an invitation to join a new project called euroversity, a blog written by 5 university students, all portuguese, 3 studing in Portugal (2 in Aveiro and 1 in Viseu), 1 in Salamanca and 1 in Czech Republic.
As you may see if you visit the page, it’s still a bit (well, a lot) empty, but we will start working on it soon.
I’ve been wanting to see this movie for about 3 years, since I saw a little bit in a portuguese TV Channel. Although I only saw about 5 or 10 minutes, the visuals of the movie and the fact that Lola (Franka Potente, Marie in The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy).
Lola Rennt (usually known as Run Lola Run) is a german movie about Lola and Manni, a couple in a very hard day. Lola sees her motorcycle being stolen while se buys some cigars, because of that she couldn’t pick her boyfriend, so he had to take the subway and there he lost 100.000 markos. Because of all this random events, Manni is afraid of a dealer and can do anything to stay alive. So, he decides that the best way to get the 100.000 markos back is to steal a shop.
Now, Lola has 20 minutes to save her boyfriend from going to jail, or even death.
It’s a very ingenious film, with a very original looking and a very good techno-based soundtrack (it’s a german film and Germany is the European capital of techno, so what kind of music did you expect?)
I couldn’t find a trailer for the movie, so I have one of the scenes:
I found this movie while checking a blog I usually visit.
For those that don’t understand french, here’s an explanation of what happens in the video: in this episode of the french version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” the question is: What gravitates around the Earth?
And the answers are:
A) The Moon
B) The Sun
C) Mars
D) Venus
After seeing this, americans don’t look so stupid.

While traveling around YouTube I found this videoclip for the Gorillaz’s music “El Mañana”. It’s very good, and the music itself is very good too, a bit sad but very good:
Yesterday I was at home with nothing to do and remembered these 2 movies that were in my computer. With the idea of some laughs I decided to give them a chance, here’s my opinion about both movies:
I saw the trailer to this movie when I saw The Da Vinci Code and back then it seemed very funny, so this was the first movie in my “comedy movies mini-marathon”.
Click follows the story of Michael Newman, a workaholic architect, that finds a universal remote control that controls…. the Universe. At first he thinks that this device is the best thing in the world, but as things develop he figures that what seemed an amazing gadget can become a real nightmare.
This movie is really funny but it also has a very good message at the end. I really liked it.
When I read about this movie having Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston I thought “I’m sure this is going to be a good movie”, but the fact is that I was wrong.
I’m not saying that The Break-Up is a bad movie, it’s just that it isn’t as funny as I thought.
This movie follows the life of Gary Grobowski and Brooke Meyers (Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston) from the moment they meet in a baseball game. After this encounter they start dating and become a couple, but there is something wrong with their relationship, Brooke thinks that Gary doesn’t aprecciate her, doesn’t gives her credit for what she does. So, after a dinner with both Gary and Brooke’s families, Brooke decides to break-up their relation. But neither one of them wants to leave the apartment they share, so both of them start to push the other out of the apartment.
It’s a good romantic comedy to see with female company (like all the others romantic comedies), but not as fun as I expected.
Here’s my latest music addiction, The Kooks, more precisely the album “Inside In, Inside Out”.
The Kooks are an Indie band from Brighton, England, and “Inside In, Inside Out” is their first album, released in January 23rd, 2006, which includes singles like Eddie’s Song, Sofa Song, You Don’t Love Me and their biggest hit Naive.
They’ve been touring around the world being in some of the biggest festivals around: Festival Sudoeste (Portugal), Benicassem Festival (Spain), SummerSonic (Japan), Hurricane (Germany) and many others.
This band consists of the front-man Luke Pritchard, guitarist Hugh Harris, bassist Max Rafferty, and Paul Garred on the percussion, with all members aging from 19 to 21.
And here’s the videoclip for Naive, their most renowned single:
